HOW TO FILL UPSEE-2014 APPLICATION FORM

Guidelines to fill in the UPSEE 2014 Application Form:
  • Candidates must keep their scanned copies of their photograph, signature and thumb impression ready as specified below.
  • They must keep their Debit/Credit Card details ready for payment (in case of online payment) before filling the UPSEE UPTU 2014 Application Form
  • They must also keep their Class XII details ready
Photograph Specifications:
  • Candidates must scan a recent colour passport size photograph
  • Dimensions of the photograph should be 3.5cm (width) x 4.5cm (height)
  • It should be in JPEG Format with a maximum size of 20 KB.
  • The background in the photograph must be either white or off-white and uncluttered.
  • The name of the candidate must be printed beneath the photograph
  • Important: Candidates are advised to keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use for the exam, counseling and admission                                       

Signature Specifications:
  • The signature should be in Blue or Black ink
  • Dimensions of the signature image should be 3.5cm (width) x 1.5cm (height)
  • It should be in JPEG Format with a maximum size of 10 KB
Thumb Impression:
  • Thumb Impression should be of the left thumb
  • The Thumb Impression should be preferably in Black ink
  • It should be in JPEG Format with a maximum size of 10 KB
  • Dimensions of the Thumb Impression should be 3.5cm (width) x 1.5cm (height)

UPSEE 2014 Registration No:
After submission of the details, a Registration number will be generated. Candidates must note down this registration number of UPSEE 2014 for all future correspondences.


UPSEE 2014 Application Fees:

  • For Male Candidates of General/ OBC Category: Rs 1000
  • For SC/ST Category and All Female Candidate: Rs 500

2. UPSEE 2014 Application Fees Payment Mode:
  • Available only to candidates who have submitted their details.
  • Candidates will be given an option to choose download of the Punjab National Bank Challan or Online Payment through Credit/Debit Cards
A. Through Bank-Challan:
Candidates who click the PNB challan donwnload will be redirected to the Challan print page.
The PNB challan will have the details of the candidate, fees to be paid and will be in triplicate.

They have to enter their UPSEE-UPTU 2014 Registration No and Date of Birth to be able to download and print the PNB challan

Candidates must sign on the PNB challan and pay the UPSEE UPTU 2014 Application Fees on the next day (2nd day from registration) at any of the specified PNB Bank branches
Note: The payment can be made on the 2nd day if the UPSEE- UPTU 2014 Application Form as filled before 5 pm on the first day
Else the payment has to be made on the 3rd day of filling the UPSEE 2014 Online Application form

After Payment, a Transaction No will be provided to the candidates.
Candidates must ensure that the Transaction No is mentioned on their copy of the challan
The Transaction No will be required for future reference

 B.  Through Credit Card / Debit Card:
  • Candidates may note that only VISA/Master cards are accepted
  • They should be ready with the card details before payment.
  • Payment can be made on the same day.
  • Candidates must note the Transaction ID after payment for future reference
3. Uploading scanned images of the Photograph, signature and thumb Impression:
  • Candidates must upload the scanned images of the passport size colour photograph, signature and thumb impression as specified early on this page
  • After uploading, candidates can print the confirmation page
  • Online Payment Candidates can upload their images immediately
  • PNB challan Payees must wait till the 3rd or 4th Day from date of submission of details to upload the images.
4. Printing of the Confirmation Page:
  • Candidates must print two copies of the UPSEE-UPTU 2014 Confirmation Page.
  • One has to be safe kept with the candidate while the other must be sent to the University
5. Sending the “Confirmation Page” to the University
  • Candidates must paste a recent passport size photograph (identical to the scanned image) in the specified place in the UPSEE 2014 Confirmation Page
  • They must put their signature & thumb impression (left thumb)in the designated place in the Confirmation Page of UPSEE-UPTU 2014.
  • Signature of the parent/ guardian signature at the space provided on the confirmation page is mandatory.
Candidates must send the duly signed completed UPSEE 2014 Confirmation Page along with copy of challan (if the payment is made through bank challan) by Speed Post or Registered Post to

general knowledge of candidates.

(i) MATHEMATICS

Modern Algebra: Idempotent law, identities, complementary laws, Demorgan’s theorem, mapping, inverse relation,
equivalence relation, Piano’s Axiom, definition of rational numbers and integers through equivalence relation.
Algebra: Surds, solution of simultaneous and quadratic equations, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progression,
Binomial theorem for any index, logarithms, exponential and logarithmic series, determinants.
Probability: Definition, dependent and independent events, numerical problems on addition and multiplication of
probability, theorems of probability.
Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, use of mathematical tables,
solution of triangles, height and distance, inverse functions, DeMoiver’s theorem.
Co-Ordinate Geometry: Co-ordinate geometry of the straight lines, pair of straight lines, circle, parabola, ellipse
and hyperbola and their properties.
Calculus: Differentiation of function of functions, tangents and normal, simple examples of maxima of minima, limits
of function, integration of function (by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction), definite integral (application to
volumes and surfaces of frustums of sphere, cone and cylinder).
Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications.
Dynamics: Velocity, composition of velocity, relative velocity, acceleration, composition of acceleration, motion
under gravity, projectiles, laws of motions, principles of conservation of momentum and energy, direct impact of
smooth bodies, pulleys.
Statics: Composition of co-planar, concurrent and parallel forces, moments and couples, resultant of set of coplanar
forces and conditions of equilibrium, determination of Centroides in simple case, problems involving friction.
